LOSS OR DAMAGE
The client acknowledges that the property is a private home and that its contents are of importance not only in terms of their monetary value but also because of their historical association to the house itself. The Client and the Guests undertake to maintain and respect the contents of the property and to treat them with care. The Client agrees that they will be liable for any loss or damage to the contents of the property as a consequence of the guests’ negligence and the Client hereby expressly agrees to compensate the Company for any such loss and damage so suffered. The Client agrees to provide a refundable deposit against such damages via a Credit Card authorisation to be taken before arrival. In particular, any spillage caused by red wine shall incur a cleaning fee if not reported to staff at the time. Current deposit and spillage fees will be included in the event contract.
The Client acknowledges that the property is let on an exclusive use basis and that it is difficult for the Company to mitigate any loss by re-letting in the event of a cancellation. Accordingly, in the event that the client chooses not to occupy the property, the Client shall be liable for the following amounts:
More than 90 days prior to arrival, deposit is fully refundable minus 10% admin fee
Less than 90 days 100% payable unless Candacraig are able to re-let the dates.
In the event of unforeseen circumstances which force the Company to have to cancel a booking, the Company reserves the right to do so, notifying the client in writing and refunding any and all monies paid at the point of cancellation.
All children under 12 years of age must be supervised by an adult at all times and we accept no responsibility for any accidents. It is not permitted for children under the age of 18 to enter the whisky library due to this room containing large quantities of alcohol.
No pets are allowed at Candacraig.
In accordance with Scottish Law, smoking is not permitted within the property. The permitted smoking areas be identified by event management upon guest arrival. Any incident of smoking identified within the property will incur a cleaning fee per room to be settled upon departure or immediately upon discovery by staff or management. Current cleaning fee is included in the event contract.
Each party will maintain insurance sufficient to cover any claims or liabilities which may reasonably arise out of or relate to its obligations under this Agreement and will provide evidence of such insurance upon request. It is recommended that insurance is taken out by the Client for this event.
