For visitors in season (April-July), the renowned royal residence at Balmoral lies just a few miles south, and offers countless discoveries for historical enthusiasts. The area surrounding Candacraig is also landmarked by numerous other castles of note — including Glenbuchat, Corgarff, Knock and Craigievar — each with their own tales to tell.

If you’re intrigued by a place that holds tradition and modern life in perfect balance, then the historic village of Braemar is just a short drive from our doorstep — the picturesque home of the annual Braemar Gathering (September) and the historic site of the 1715 Jacobite rising.
