FALCONRY AT CANDACRAIG

The Cairngorms National Park is home to several birds of prey. They can be spotted in the wild, but they are often a fleeting and distant sight, high up in the big Scottish skies.

We work with Huntly Falconry Centre to bring these magnificent creatures to Candacraig and allow our guests to observe them at close range. John, their knowledgeable handler and trainer, shares many wonderful stories about the birds and their peculiarities. The birds can be seen close by on their stand, or flying and returning to their handler. At times guests will be allowed to hold the birds on their arm, under the close tuition and supervion of the falconry team.

Spending time in close contact with wildlife is always a magical experience and we always suggest this activity to our guests, as it invariably turns into one of their most memorable times during their stay.
